Currently, at its initial stage BlueberryHillLoJ Farm is a private non-profit project and is for its start-up initially funded by different income streams.   However, ultimately the aim is to establish additional projects income streams like eco-lodges and housing projects generating additional income aimed at re-investing in the Agricultural project.  Our goal is to make Blueberry Hill LoJ Farm sustainable and self-sufficient within 5 years delivering a return on Investment during this period.

The creation of a Foundation manages the finances and funding and is to ensure that the project is financially sustainable in the long term. The foundation will be responsible for managing finances, fundraising, and creating partnerships with other organizations. This foundation will be established according to the Belgian Company Code.

We will also ringfence 20% of the net  income into the foundation’s reserve to reinvest not only into the business to fund expansion and improvements, but also to support other projects for the benefit of the local community such as schooling, health care, nature reserves, reforestation, and community life.

The amount of investment needed for a sustainable agriculture project in Zambia depends on various factors, such as the size of the project, the cost of land, the cost of agricultural tools, the cost of inputs such as seeds and fertilizers, and the cost of labour.

To attract funding, the project will create a more detailed financial plan and a project report that outlines the project's objectives, activities, and expected outcomes. The financial plan will include a breakdown of all expenses, including land purchase, equipment purchase, lease, labor, and inputs. The plan will also indicate the expected revenue streams, such as sales of crops, carbon credits, and ecotourism income. The plan will also have a detailed analysis of the return on investment, including the payback period and the expected profit margin. This will be based on the insights gained during the study tour of May 2023 which includes visits to other local farms, market research with local supermarkets, and a correct price estimation based on up-to-date prices of the different materials, construction, and equipment
